King of Kings made history by debuting at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, later peaking at No. 7, and simultaneously hitting No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts. It was the third best-selling Latin album in the U.S. in 2006, ultimately certified Gold by the RIAA with more than 556,000 copies sold. The album also earned major accolades, winning Reggaeton Album of the Year at the 2007 Latin Billboard Music Awards and receiving a nomination for Best Urban Music Album at the 2006 Latin Grammy Awards.
